RONI

Roni has been an artist as long as she can remember, taking after 3 of her great-grandmas who were all professional artists. She has always had a love for painting and drawing, which lead to beginning a studio art degree in painting, but later switching to an emphasis on sculpture at Utah State University. She first started her journey into tattooing at the end of her time in college in 2020. Though tattooing is different than carving stones, she applies a lot of the same skills and ways of seeing designs in both practices. 

Roni’s love and connection to the fine arts lead to her opening her dream business; a communal art studio and fine arts gallery. Between tattooing and running a makerspace, Roni gets to be submerged in the growing arts scene in Salt Lake City and help shape the future of it with a focus on building community. When she isn’t at Lucid tattooing, or at The Gala making art, she is usually traveling or camping where she finds the most inspiration for her work. She is deeply inspired by the way light hits and passes through plants, the soft edges (or lack of edges) in nature, and the relationship between humans and the other living things around us. These are themes that show up a lot in her tattoo work and personal projects.
